Flatten the Curve
Peak shaving means charging storage when heat is cheap or abundant, then discharging during the evening rush. It protects both the fuel bill and the grid.
How It Works
- Charge a buffer tank overnight with CHP or off-peak heat.
- Discharge through substation exchangers when demand spikes.
- Add a heat pump to upgrade low-grade heat into the stored buffer.
Why Recovery Still Comes First
Storage multiplies the value of every recovered joule. Capturing exhaust with an isolated plate air-to-air unit before storage means more heat banked from the same fuel. The combination cuts peak boiler firing and emissions.
