Grain, nuts and herbal crops are dried with hot air; the exhaust still carries usable sensible heat. CNCSP plate sensible recovery captures it to pre-heat inlet air - with no moisture returned to the product.
The challenge
Drying exhaust is hot, moist and often dusty; returning latent heat would re-wet the product and risk mould. Only the dry sensible fraction should be recovered, and corrosion from herbs or salts must be managed.
How air-to-air heat recovery helps
Install plate sensible heat exchangers (never enthalpy or rotary) on the dryer exhaust-to-inlet path. They recover dry heat only, so product moisture stays controlled; stainless or coated plates resist corrosion from herbs and residues.
Recommended CNCSP exchangers
- Plate sensible cores only - dry heat recovery, no rehumidification.
- 304 / 316L / coated plates - resist herb and residue corrosion.
- No enthalpy, no rotary - prevents moisture carryback into product.
Typical configuration
| Parameter | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Recovery type | Sensible only (dry heat) |
| Moisture | No latent recovery (no re-wetting) |
| Core material | 304 / 316L / coated |
| Arrangement | Dryer exhaust-to-inlet |
| Options | Low-temperature drying ready |
