AI and hyperscale data centers reject enormous heat through ventilation exhaust. CNCSP air-to-air plate cores recover that sensible heat to pre-condition incoming supply air, cutting cooling and HVAC energy without mixing exhaust into the supply stream.
The challenge
GPU and server loads push air temperatures high and dense. Exhaust air carries recoverable sensible heat, but it may also contain trace contaminants and VOCs from equipment, so it must never be allowed to re-enter the supply airstream.
How air-to-air heat recovery helps
Mount counterflow or crossflow plate air-to-air cores in the AHU or CRAH exhaust-to-supply path. Sensible recovery pre-cools or pre-heats make-up air, and indirect evaporative (IEC) stages add free cooling. Separate plates keep the two streams isolated.
Recommended CNCSP exchangers
- Plate sensible cores (counterflow / crossflow) - primary recovery in AHU or CRAH exhaust paths.
- Epoxy-coated or 316L plates - for corrosive or coastal sites.
- Indirect evaporative (IEC) modules - free-cooling augmentation.
- Not rotary wheels - they carry exhaust into supply; plate isolation avoids cross-contamination.
