Pharmaceutical Exhaust Heat Recovery Without Recirculation: GMP-Compliant Design

The challenge

A pharmaceutical plant wanted to recover heat from laboratory and process exhaust, but regulations require that exhaust not be recirculated into supply air. A rotary wheel was ruled out because of carryover risk.

The solution

A separated sensible plate core recovered sensible heat from the exhaust to preheat incoming make-up air, with the two streams fully isolated by a solid partition. No moisture or contaminant crosses between them.

The result

The plant cut make-up-air heating energy while staying compliant with GMP and ventilation rules that forbid exhaust recirculation - a design that only a contamination-free sensible core can deliver.
